School Council and Parent Involvement

Parent involvement and participation in a variety of school activities, is a significant feature of our school that is actively encouraged and greatly valued.

The Omeo Primary School Council has a constitution that allows for 4 parent representatives, 2 community members and 2 DET members.  Meetings of the School Council are normally 2nd Wednesday of the month at 5.30.  The School Council is responsible for many areas of school operation. Elections are held each March for approximately 1/2 of these positions.

COMMUNITY & PARENT INPUT

Parents are invited to become partners with teachers in developing positive educational outcomes for their children.  Involvement in all aspects of the school’s operation is welcomed and encouraged.  Parents are involved in supporting classroom programs, the school’s committee structures, curriculum programs, the library and the development of facilities and resources. Our school welcomes community assistance and in fact our programs for swimming and winter sport skiing depend on it.

You can become involved with our School through:

  • Classroom Activities
  • Reading Helpers
  • Special School Events
  • Library Support
  • Camps & Excursions
  • Parents & Friends Club activities
  • Kitchen Garden -gardening, cooking
  • Helping in the classroom
  • Swimming, Skiing and Snow Programs
